In Honor Of
Mirian Steele-McGhee
In April 2016 the McGhee Family announced that heaven had claimed another “Angel” in their beautiful matriarch, Mirian Steele-McGhee ( childhood sweetheart/wife of Chuck and mother of Ebony and Bronze) after a four-year battle with cancer. This, coupled with the fact that Ebony was a breast cancer survivor, inspired the family to add the Breast Cancer Awareness arm to the SISTA Mission.
Mirian had long been a familiar face and staple at all Atlanta and Birmingham Sista events; so powerful was her impact on the community that the Mayor of Woodstock Ga., Donnie Henriques, designated the day of Mirian’s Funeral as “Mirian McGhee Day”. SISTA also presents the Mirian McGhee Award to the individual that most exemplifies the positive spirit and support that defined Mirian McGhee. Mirian McGhee will be forever missed, but never forgotten!
