(CGhee Culture)
Attorney Charles "Chuck" McGhee, CEO/Founder, CMCCEF
It is an accepted fact that our culture is who we are and is what shapes our identity. Placing culture at the heart of one's development is the only way to ensure a truly human centered, inclusive and equitable development. If one is to be a productive member of society, It is essential that they be well educated in their culture. This includes a knowledge of business norms and applications, finances, beliefs, values, institutions, medical advances, cultural arts, social and networking skills , as well as other functionalities which make up the society in which we live.
The McGhee Cultural, Community and Education Fund was started to address an obvious cultural deficiency in underserved communities. The concept is not brand new. It is rather an offshoot umbrella that encompasses things learned from preceding organization such as The Flora McGhee Charm and Modeling school established by my mother in 1958 in Birmingham Alabama to prepare African American Women in the Segregated South, on ways to assimilate into business society, in addition to other social graces and skills.
Local banks often required her course before they would hire African American Women as tellers, The Ebony Arrington Dance and Performance School (www.ebonyarrington.com.) established in the early 90’s by my eldest daughter, and the Sisters Inspiring Sisters Through the Arts (www.SistersInspiringSisters.org.)
Following in the footsteps of these organizations, C McGhee has taken the next step in supporting the many organizations that lead to cultural development of those who otherwise might not have such opportunities available to them. Our broad-brush approach allows us to support a variety of deserving organizations.
All funds received by C McGhee are distributed toward that end ensuring a more wholesome, livable, striving, and equitable society. As a 501C organization, your contributions to us are tax deductible.
